I have had the honor of visiting the Tomb of our 16th President 3 times in my life. The first time I was 13 years old and with my Junior High 8th grade class. The second and third times, I brought my own children with me to visit President Lincoln's final resting place. It was interesting to me how much it took to place the President here for his final rest. The President's body was almost stolen more than once, and in the vault around and underneath the back hillside of the present tomb, they had to finally keep 2 soldiers there on hand 24 hours a day to guard the President's body to ensure that there would not be more attempts to steal it. I have written about President Lincoln in many forums and blogs ever since starting my paranormal and history career, and I never get bored and remain intrigued to this very day. There is a paranormal group dedicated to investigating Lincoln sites and possible hauntings that pertain to our 16th President, and you can find that website at www.spiritoflincoln.webs.com. I am honored to be part of their efforts, and I look forward to blogging about our adventures that will surely give us further insight to the life and afterlife of a great man. We look forward to your comments and any information any of you may have to help us to further our education and investigations in the future. We all learn together, and that is what makes this project so exciting to all of us involved. In closing, it is said that the President can be heard roaming the halls of the tomb and also the White House in Washington D.C. Our hope with our project is to focus on the Illinois ties of the 16th President, although I am quite certain that nobody on the team would be opposed to eventually traveling to Washinton D.C. and taking in the Lincoln history there as well. Thanks for following us, and Take care.
